WESTECH provides range organizational-level maintenance, range mission subsystems O&M, communications services, support to test and evaluation, and deployment of range instrumentation.  WESTECH personnel support mission-essential communications electronics and frequency surveillance operations throughout the northern and central portions of the range.  Our communications personnel operate, maintain, and troubleshoot digital and analog telecommunications equipment and systems. They perform system and equipment checkout prior to mission support requirements to ensure proper operation of the telecommunications circuits, cable facilities, microwave systems, cable carriers, fiber-optics, line treatment equipment and interface equipment pertaining to UHV/VHF radio, microwave, Data, and Flight Termination Systems. Our frequency surveillance effort includes the provision of equipment positioning setup and tear-down; performance of interference resolution; monitoring, evaluating and recording mission frequencies; equipment checkout, calibration and alignment; and reporting on equipment availability status.

For the Navy’s tactical air combat ranges on both U.S. coasts, WESTECH provides maintenance and engineering support for operating and maintaining training range systems and equipment in support of tactical, operational, and strategic warfare training requirements. We maintain a wide variety of electronic systems and equipment, both foreign and domestic, designed to train/test combat units in the use of offensive and defensive tactics necessary to survive in a hostile environment.

 

WESTECH provided support to our customer’s Operational Test & Evaluation activities. Our range O&M functions included operations planning, range scheduling, resource deconfliction, and operations of mission equipment (e.g., telemetry, optics, comms, range safety, data handling, and timing systems).

 

WESTECH supports the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, operating a logistics program. Our logistics support services include downrange logistics support, vehicle and equipment services, and supply services for the Forward Distribution Points (FDP). Our downrange base operations includes providing provide rotational units with spare parts and other equipment.
